At the Rio+20 Conference, world leaders, along with thousands of participants from governments, the private sector, NGOs and other groups, will come together to shape how we can reduce poverty, advance social equity and ensure environmental protection on an ever more crowded planet to get to the future we want.
What is development? How can we compare levels of development? What does it take to make development sustainable? This student book, which draws on data published by the World Bank, is addressed to young people, students, teachers, and all those interested in exploring issues of global development. It encourages learners to seek their own solutions to sustainable development challenges by exploring and discussing a broad range of critical global issues.
